Looking for postgraduate scholarship information? PDF Print
The basic postgraduate study award is the Australian Postgraduate Award. Information on Australian Postgraduate Awards (APAs) is available on all university postgraduate pages. APAs are competitive but some universities preserve APAs for Indigenous students.

University websites are a good place to search for other postgraduate scholarships. Some scholarships are only available within a particular university. Others relate to particular disciplines and can be held in any Australian university, though some may be restricted to a particular state. Some scholarships are available for overseas study or research. As with APAs some postgraduate scholarships are preserved for people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Below are some links to external organisations or foundations that offer postgraduate scholarships. This list is not exhaustive, nor is it confined to Indigenous scholarships.

Australian-American Fulbright Commission (Postgraduate Award for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders sponsored by the Department of Immigration, Mulitcultural and Indigenous Affairs Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination)

Endeavour Research Fellowships for Indigenous Australian (Short-term study in Asia & Middle East)

The Menzies Foundation (Allied Health, Law, Medicine, Harvard)

The General Sir John Monash Awards (for overseas study)

NHMRC Scholarships (Health & Medicine)

Ian Leslie Scholarship for Postgraduate Health Studies (Office of Aboriginal Health Scholarship Program, Western Australian Department of Health)
